Just Like Your Old Man

Image
Justin cautiously parked the car in the driveway, having nearly turned back twice already. He despised his father, the years of torture he and put on Justin's family after coming out and abandoning his wife and 9-year-old son. It had taken years of therapy for Justin to recover from the trauma his father had caused, years to correct the inadvertent homophobia he had unknowingly developed. And now, 25 years later, his father wanted to reconnect.

Headache

Image
Felix couldn’t figure out where this massive headache had come from. The day had started the same as everyday before. Got up at six, let the dog out, started brewing some coffee. At 27, Felix was at an age where he didn’t have to worry about morning pills but was concerned with accidentally pulling a muscle getting out of bed. Some stretching helped readjust his slightly overweight body, helping him wake up for the day. After a quick shower, feeding the dog, and getting dressed, he was out the door before seven.

For Me, Bro?

Image
Carter’s younger brother had that puppy-dog look on his face that he’d never been able to deny. “For me, bro?” Ethan pouted, trying to display just how important this was to him. It was almost comical, seeing the usual jockish alpha-male type begging for his nerdy older brother’s assistance. At 6’1 and riding high on a soccer scholarship, Ethan had never needed much help in life since puberty had hit. And just two years older, Carter had become independent through the other form of means. Instead of thriving from good looks, he’d campaigned with good grades. He wasn’t that unattractive by any means, but his averageness was always heightened when placed next to his younger brother.

Opponents

“See Curtis, I told you this wasn’t going to be so bad,” Ned chuckled as he began massaging the other nerd’s oiled up torso. “Now just relax and give in to the pleasure.” “‘The pleasure’?” Curtis questioned in his high-pitched, nasally tone. “This must be a joke.” “No, it’s the real deal!” Ned affirmed. “I got this stuff when I was studying abroad in Nepal last semester. It’s apparently supposed to do wonders for stress relief. The guy said it helps ‘loosen the brain’.” “‘ Loosen the brain ’?” Curtis questioned again, but Ned put a stop to the interrogation immediately. “Stop thinking so hard and just let me give you a massage.”

Brocaine

Image
“I know you want a sniff of this, slut. C’mon, put your face right in there.” If I would’ve known that this was going to happen, I would’ve never started spiking Duncan’s drinks with brocaine. He was just such a prick. The nerd was always getting in my face about being pristine, studying my material more often, actually “taking care of my future” or whatever. The shrimp was so obnoxious about his intelligence that I had to do something so he'd stop interfering with my studies. So when one of my colleagues suggested I start dosing him with brocaine, I didn’t even think twice about buying the product.

Finding Myself

Image
This one is definitely not for everybody, but just right for @phagster I guess I truly didn’t find myself until college. Ok, I know a lot of people say that, but my experience was certainly unique. For starters, I was an exchange student from Germany, although the Americans were never able to guess that at first glance. My Turkish parents had gifted me with many things: their dark curly locks, their caramel-rich skin, their native tongue, and a stable childhood in Berlin. But I was living in two separate worlds, their Turkey and the physical Germany. So when I chose to study abroad, the United States was my first choice.

Serving the City

Bing AI is the real superhero here Cole was hunched over the front of the desk, holding a calm demeanor as the door to the office was opened behind him. He couldn’t believe he had finally been caught, right before his biggest success yet. Hours earlier, Cole should have been the city’s wealthiest man at only 21 years old. Instead, he was the city’s only 21-year-old to be held hostage inside the judicial high-rise overlooking the city. “It’s great to finally meet you, Cole,” a deep, commanding voice came from behind.
